Everyone needs to see the movie, The Corporation which does a psychiatric eval of a corporation as though it were the human it is not. The diagnosis will surprise you. Corporations are merely nonentities behind which some humans hide to escape personal responsibility for their bad behavior.

I am concerned about the Supreme Court since it has some radical members like Scalia, Alito and Roberts.

Can we impeach those like Scalia who have commited misdeeds like going duck hunting with then VP Dick Cheney while Cheney was before the court? Cheney was being sued to reveal the names and agenda of those from energy corporations in secret energy meetings with Exxonmobil, Shell BP and former Enron execs. Not surprisingly, Scalia refused to recuse himself AND Scalia was the deciding vote to allow Cheney to keep that information from the American public! The ensuing obscene profits of these corporations speak for themselves as to what went on during those elicit meetings.

What recourse do we, the people, have?

Robert's main argument is that since the Court has deemed corporations to be individuals (an absurd mistake), their freedom of speech is infringed upon by FEC regulations.

Corporations should have the same rights as individual citizens when it comes to contracts and property, etc., but that is where a corporation's rights end. They are not people, they cannot vote and they have absolutely no business funding candidates, period.

Roberts is either a fool or a corporate, Bush Era, appointed lackey. His position undermines the existence of our basic democratic institutions and will lead to lead to the finalization of a corporate state in our country.

If the Court decides in favor of Citizens United, it will have committed de-facto treason to our country!!!

While I am not a "Conservative", I think a new term is required to describe the control based trend that Richard is commenting upon. I suspect that actual conservatives are not in favor of such intervention in the political process that the court is considering. There is nothing "conservative" about the serious damage done to the economy by the recent bank de-regulation that enabled the latest banking binge and purge cycle. I would refer to those that are itching to grab public assets for their own use as members of a mind set "group" that could include Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, Socialists, Independents or even USSR type "Communists". How do we define individuals that would gladly drive their neighbor into bankruptcy so they can grab their property at a steep discount during an economic "purge" cycle. Pirates? Thieves? Cannibals? Our nation seems to be suffering from prolonged economic bulimia. I am thinking that the only cure is public financing of campaigns although with unlimited funding available from Multi-nationals there may be little recourse unless new legislation can be implemented.

The Health-Care reform fiasco, engineered alone by the Health-Care Industry, is proof enough that the public and Congress are truly at the mercy of 'corporations' and their largess. For the Supreme Court to find in favor of unlimited Corporate largess should nail and seal the coffin of corporate control. Their money will finance a Congressional perpetual full house of their political persuasion, that is Conservatives, and subsequent Conservative legislation to maintain and protect the imbalance. We may finally get a "one party" political system, because the dissenting party will be ruled out. What will happen in the future is anybody's guess, but it will take many generations before the public realizes what hit them. Short of revolution there will be no way to 'throw-out the bums". The "South" may live to regret their 1/2 century reaction to President L. Johnson' Civil Rights work. And the Religious Right will find 'happiness' for awhile before they learn that Theocracy is not on the Conservative menu.
